How to add & customize a product upsell offer to your Shopify thank you page with ReConvert
The Product Upsell widget is one of ReConvert's most effective offerings. In this case, upselling is simply the act of offering your customers a better (more expensive) item when they land on your Thank You page.
Upselling is all about the power of persuasion. When you upsell a customer, you’re convincing them to spend more money on the item they are purchasing by opting for a more premium model. If you nail your upsell presentation and offering, you will certainly see your revenue flying through the roof!
Adding the Widget
Access your Thank you Page Builder either from the Thank You Page Menu or from the Funnel Editor
Go to the right area or left area menu on your Page Builder and click Add Section
Select Product Upsell
The widget will then appear on your Thank You Page Builder
Here is what the Widget Menu looks like. Let's go over each of the sections and see how they work on the page.
1️⃣ Choosing a Title
This is where you gat to add a title to the upsell. If you leave the text box empty, the default product title will be displayed, otherwise you can write the title in the text box and edit the appearance using the text-editing features as seen above (bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, font size etc). Below the product title text box, a drop-down will allow you to choose whether to display the product title above or below the product image.
2️⃣ Product Options Menu
In this section you get to control everything related to the products you want to upsell.
We'll break down the sections in this menu along with each of their drop-downs:
This section let's you select from where you can generate your product upsell.

Display selected product, anyway
Hide the featured product

This section you adjust whether to display a large, medium or small-sized upsell widget. The widget on the page builder shown in this article is large.

Click this dropdown if you want to add a product description. The same text editing features available in the above sections are applicable here too.

Use this dropdown to choose which image to display, as well as adding an additional one for a slideshow.
Sold out text to display in case the product is sold out.

Here's what they look like on the widget
Finally, you have an option to add Star Reviews below the products from our selection of Third Party review partners.
3️⃣ Discount Settings
You can choose to attach a discount to the featured product to make it more attractive to the customer, the discounts will automatically apply to the new order.
You can use a pre-made coupon you’ve created through your Shopify admin discounts page (Note: if you use a pre-made discount the customer will be redirected to the customer information page and not to the payment page).
You can also use an automatic discount that ReConvert will generate for you, if you use an automatic discount the customer will be redirected directly to the payment page on the checkout process (Skip the cart, customer information and shipping method).
If you select automatic discount you’ll have to choose one of 4 options:
Free shipping - your customer won't pay for free shipping
Percentage discount - will take X% off the new order.
Fixed amount per unit - will take $X off the new order for every unit ordered. When selecting this option you’ll have to define the discount amount to offer the customer. In this case if the customer purchase 2 units of the featured product, the customer will get twice the discount. (you can also apply free shipping in case you'd like to add that to the featured product offer)
Fixed amount per order - will take $X off the new order, no matter how many items the customer purchase. When selecting this option you’ll have to define the amount of percentage to offer the customer. In this case if the customer purchase 2 units of the featured product, the discount will be applied once for the entire order. (you can also apply free shipping in case you'd like to add that to the featured product offer)
Price settings let you control the pricing displayed on the widget.
Product compare price - will display the original compare to price from your Shopify store.
Product price - will display the original product price from your Shopify store.
Product price including discount - will display the product price after applying the discount you set up in the previous section (only apply for automatic discounts). Example: you chose a discount of 20% and the product costs $100 before the discount. On the thank you page the customer will see a price of $80.
After you fix your price settings, here's what they should look like on the page builder.
4️⃣ Timer settings
You can add a timer to your Upsell offer to make it time sensitive.
You have 3 options to set when your timer can be displayed:
On every impression
Once per order
Once per customer
Choose for how long your timer will expire.

You can choose from up to 4 different styles, each style has its own settings and the ability to display text in a specific area.
