The product block exists within a number of ReConvert widgets. [Please note that some minor differences may exist between certain pages and specific widgets.]

This guide will focus solely on where there is only one product to display. If you are in a widget, such as the Product Recommendations widget, which allows you to select multiple products, please follow the guidance here within the product recommendations widget, as it differs from the guidance here.

Customizing the product block



Once you are within a widget, click on the Product block



To add more product blocks to an existing widget, click Add widget



Select the Product block from the widget selector, and it will be added to the bottom of the widget you are currently in



In this article, we will focus on the Product Block. The product block determines which product (or products, depending on the widget) will be displayed to your customers.

Product to display



Within this block, you have the choice to display:-

Shopify recommendations / complementary products
A specific product
The most expensive product in the customer's order
The cheapest product in the customer's order
A number of integrations with third party applications

Each will be discussed below.




Shopify recommendations setup



To set up the product block with Shopify recommendations, follow these steps.



To set up the Shopify recommendations in accordance with Shopify's algorithm:-

Click on Product



Select Shopify Recommendations



Choose Related Recommendations



Related recommendations are auto-generated and can be configured via the Shopify Search & Discovery app

Use exclusion tags to exclude products you don’t want to show. For example, tag products as "purple skis"



Check or uncheck whether to hide products that are already in the customer's order



Complementary recommendations setup


To set up the Shopify recommendations in accordance with your own settings (note:- these complementary product lists will need to be set up manually via the Shopify Search and Discovery app):-

Select Complementary Recommendations



Use exclusion tags as needed to exclude products you don’t want to show. In this example we will exclude, "bestsellers." Type 'bestsellers' into the text box






Specific product setup



You can choose to display a specific product. To select a specific product:-

Select specific product



Click on select featured product / change



Select the product you want to display

Click on Select.

There are now some further options for customizations on what to do if the specific item you intend to upsell is already in the customer's order.

Decide what to do if the specific product you are upselling is already in the customer's order:

You can choose to display the featured product anyway



You can hide the upsell



You can use a Shopify recommendation instead of the product already in the customer's order



You can display an alternative specific product



Select the alternative product you wish to display if the original product is already in the customer's order. Once you’ve chosen the alternative product, simply click on the Select button to finalize the choice. This step ensures the customer is shown the alternative product instead of the one already in their cart.

Select Most expensive product in the order



Add exclusion tags if you wish as above



Cheapest product in cart



Select Cheapest product in the order



Add exclusion tags if you wish as above



Using an integration of Wiser, Personalized or Recomatic



Wiser recommendations


Use Wiser recommendations to suggest the best products based on customer behavior and other predefined parameters. You can find out more about this integration by clicking the link provided.

Personalized recommendations


The personalized recommendations feature allows for custom product suggestions based on customer interactions and browsing history. This is perfect for increasing conversion rates through more tailored suggestions.

Recomatic recommendations


The Recomatic recommendations integration helps ensure customers see products they are likely to be interested in based on the data available. More details can be found by clicking the link to the integration.
