How to place slots in the Shopify editor

After creating your slots and widgets, you have to place your slots in the Shopify editor to complete the process and make sure your customers see your widgets.

This article will take you through how to easily do this.

Placing slots on the Shopify editor

Once you've created one or more slots, you can click on the Place your slots on the Shopify editor button:

You will be redirected to the Shopify editor:

Using the dropdown at the top of the page to make sure you are editing the right page:

In this case, we are editing the checkout pages and will be adding checkout slots to the page.

To place a slot, you need to add an app block to the Shopify editor. You can do this by clicking the Add app block:

Add an app block

In the left menu in the Shopify editor, you will see all of the available app blocks for this page.

You might see other app blocks along with your ReConvert app blocks here- depending on which apps you have installed on your store.

For each page, you will have 10 app blocks by ReConvert- these represent the 10 slots available in the app.

The names of the app blocks will be in the following structure: [page name] slot [number]. For example: Checkout slot 1.

These names allow you to identify which app block represents which slot in ReConvert.

Select the app block you'd like to add:

Once you click the app block, it will be added to a default location.

Click the "back" button to edit the block location:

You will see the ReConvert slot added to the page:

If you hover over the slot, you will have 6 dots indicating you can drag it. Click and hold these 3 dots to move the slot to a new location:

Hover over the slot

When you finish moving your slot, click Save:

Save

Please note: the preview in the Shopify editor should show the slot in its location, but as you can see, it sometimes doesn't work, in which case the best thing to do would be to view it on your store after saving.

You can repeat these steps for each one of the slots you've created, to place all of them on the page in the locations you choose.
