Getting started with ReConvert:- Installing, onboarding & adding ReConvert to your store's pages | Shopify

The easiest way to place your slots within the Shopify editor is by following our onboarding wizard when you set up ReConvert for the first time. We will cover this first. If you did not do this when you installed ReConvert, you can still add and amend slots later (including their positioning on the page), so please see later in the article for how to do so.

Installing ReConvert in your store upon installation

Install, activate and add ReConvert to the pages in your store by following the video here.

If you clicked 'I'll do it manually' then you can add your slots manually following the steps below.

After creating your slots and widgets, you have to place your slots in the Shopify editor to complete the process and make sure your customers see your widgets.

The remainder of this article will take you through how to easily do this.

Manually placing slots on the Shopify editor

Once you've created one or more slots, you can click on the Place your slots on the Shopify editor button:



You will be redirected to the Shopify editor:



Using the dropdown at the top of the page to make sure you are editing the right page:



In this case, we are editing the checkout pages and will be adding checkout slots to the page.

To place a slot, you need to add an app block to the Shopify editor. You can do this by clicking the Add app block:



In the left menu in the Shopify editor, you will see all of the available app blocks for this page.

You might see other app blocks along with your ReConvert app blocks here- depending on which apps you have installed on your store.

For each page, you will have 10 app blocks by ReConvert- these represent the 10 slots available in the app.

Within each page (except for the two Post Purchase pages for which there is only one slot and for which this is automatically added) you have 7 app blocks by ReConvert in the following structure: [page name] slot [number]. That is:

Checkout page - 'Checkout slot 1' - 'Checkout slot 7' (if you are a Shopify Plus merchant),
Thank you page - 'Thank you page slot 1' - 'Thank you page slot 7'
Order status page - 'Order status page slot 1' - 'Order status page slot 7'.

These names allow you to identify which app block represents which slot in ReConvert.

Within each page you will also see one of each of the following premade slots that you can use as a basis from which to edit and optimize your store's upsell widgets:-

Product upsell
Product recommendations
Bundle
Banner
