How to add a post purchase survey

Post-purchase surveys give you a chance to learn how customers feel about your products or services in order to improve on them, and it also provides an opportunity to gain feedback on the overall buying process in an unobtrusive manner.

ReConvert has a Post-Purchase survey widget, which allows you to gain this information and more. We'll take you through the process in this tutorial.

Creating a survey

1️⃣ Click the Thank you Pages menu on the Reconvert Dashboard. Select Post Purchase Surveys

2️⃣ Click the “Create a new survey” button

3️⃣ Enter your survey title and click 'Save title' button

||| ⚠️ WARNING: be aware that customers will see the title (though this can be disabled via the tick-box on the Thank You Page.

4️⃣ Questions go in the Question box, with four possible answer types

The following limitations and considerations for post-purchase checkout extensions apply:

Only payment processors supported by Shopify will work with post-purchase upsells
ReConvert supports 100% of Shopify’s supported processors
If your processor isn't on the list, and your post purchase upsells are not working with ReConvert -> no upsell app will work with it
Shopify requires card vaulting for post-purchase offers - some gateways do not support this

🔎 How to check your gateway

Go to your Shopify admin
Click Settings → Payments
Note the payment provider listed under “Payment providers”

In this example, the merchant has selected Shopify Payments as the default payment processor offered to customers. Alternative payment processors are Paypal and Clearpay.

🧪 How to test if your processor works

Install ReConvert and place a paid test order (use a 99% discount if needed)
Do not use a free test order - Shopify won’t trigger the post-purchase flow
If no upsell is shown, your payment gateway/processor is likely not supported by Shopify

Some benefits of adding this section are:

How to collect customer birthdays on your Shopify thank you page using ReConvert

It's heartwarming to be remembered on your birthday, especially as a grown-up. ReConvert has a widget that allows you to collect your customers' Birthday info on the Thank You page, and send them a message on that special day!

Using this feature can help you make your customer feel special by offering them something from your store on their birthday. The information will be synced into the Shopify customer card as a note. Adding the Widget

How to add product comments to your thank you page

Ecommerce studies have shown that high reviews are a major factor that influences people to choose a higher-priced option. If someone provides positive feedback on a product, another person is very likely to buy it. ReConvert's Product Comments feature will allow you to ask your customer a question about a product they have just purchased. This question will appear below every product (in case the customer ordered multiple products).

Enabling product comments

To enable this feature, you need to take the following steps, which are also shown on the GIF below:

1️⃣ Access the General Settings section on your Reconvert Menu.

2️⃣Click Product Comments

3️⃣Select the Enable product comments checkbox

The Comments Box will then appear on your page builder, similar to how the customer should see it on the Thank you Page.
